The Palacio del Acebrón,
with is interesting exhibition about the traditional uses of the land in
Doñana, is located in Arroyo de La Rocina Protected Zone,
half way up the stream and some 7 kms northwest of La Rocina Visitor
Centre.
This peculiar building was
built by Luis Espinosa Fondevilla in the early sixties as a private
residency and hunting lodge. |
| From the car park you can
start a 1,5 km long - rounded - trail that goes through an outstanding
mosaic of cork oak forests, reed beds, pine forests and the thickest
riverbank forests. With no doubt, this is one of the most recommended
places to visit in the area. |

(Based on M.L.Rivera´s grafics)
It is specially good
for its flowers in autumn and spring and its variety of Passerines. Otter
lives in the lagoon all year round but doesn't show easily. This is the right place to go in the
afternoon if it's too hot to go somewhere else. For
opening times and additional information call the Park Administrative
Centre at 959 448 640 or the Visitor Centre at 959 506 162
