Discovering
Doņana was
founded by Claudio Manetti and his wife Marina
in the early nineties.
After a
couple of holidays in Doņana they decided that El Rocío was
the
place where they wanted to live and work. So they quitted their jobs in
Italy and left family behind to start a new life in Andalucía.
Being both keen birdwatchers and nature lovers, it
wasn't too long before they set their minds on the creation of the
company. They wanted to satisfy
 the visitors of the area who wished to
be shown Doņana in a different way, as they used to say : "from
inside"
Soon they were well known by all the birdwatchers
visiting the park. In their white land rover they opened the eyes of
those willing to discover all the secrets that Doņana kept away from
visitors.
Today, following their steps,

with the occasional help of some of the best local ornithology and nature
guides, with years of experience in the area, offer you a real and exciting experience of the diversity of habitats
and species in one of the most important natural sites in Europe.
No matter what you are interested on: wild
flowers and mushrooms, ecology, natural resources management,
butterflies and dragonflies, mammals, birds or just nature as a whole. We are organized so
as to meet all needs, from those of the budding naturalist to the more
specialized requirements of the experienced ornithologist or botanist.

Discovering
Doņana Ltd is a registered Spanish company authorized by Natural and
National Parks administrations to carry out our activities in the area.
Doņana is a specially sensitive
area, so administrations have to ensure activities are done in the
appropriate way not to have any negative effects on species and ecosystems.
That's why companies working in the area have to fulfil certain requirements
to be given the authorization to carry out their activities.
Discovering Doņana has been guiding independent
birdwatchers, and naturalist for years and some European tour companies
such as Naturetrek, Island Holidays, Ecoturist Services, Reisen in die
Natur, Natura Aragon, Travel to Nature and Ornitour, to mention a few, trust
us when it comes to get a professional guiding service.
We advertise on specialized magazines like Birding
and British Birds since 1995 and participates in Rutland's Birdwatching
Fair since 1998.
